© 2007 by Kris Waldherr From A to Z, author and artist Kris Waldherr presents 80 goddesses in a golden framed "portrait" set on a dark background with a brown border surrounding the card. The cards are approximately 2.5" x 4.5" which is a nice size for shuffling and handling of the cards. Beneath each portrait of the goddess, the author has included a phrase to sum up the card's meaning. In the accompanying 112-page book, the author includes some keywords and brief information for each goddess card. With this particular deck, it can be helpful to have some knowledge of the goddesses or at least have access to look them up for further information. I would have liked to have seen a little more applicable information in the book which accompanies this lovely set of cards. I would have also liked to have seen the goddess images take up more of the card itself. If you are familiar with Kris Waldherr's Goddess Tarot, some of the goddess images may be familiar to you. Her goddess-themed art has been published on book covers, as greeting cards, and in books, magazines, and calendars. This card set is meant to inspire, and because the phrases on the cards are uplifting, I think the tone is definitely one that is inspiring if one will use its wisdom. In addition to using the cards for readings, the cards can also be used for creating affirmations, sparking creativity when you fee stuck, and accessing a new outlook or perspective on a matter. The book and card set comes in a square box with a lift-off lid. A gold organza bag is included for the cards, along with the accompanying 112-page book. Waldherr's intention is that anyone can use the cards straight out of the box -- no memorization needed to use the wisdom of these cards if one will come to the cards with a receptive mind. To become familiar with the cards, Waldherr offers various methods to get to know the deck and suggests the following prayer or affirmation: "In beauty may I walk. In beauty may I see. In beauty may we all be. "Overall, I am quite pleased with this deck. I like that Kris Waldherr has included so many goddesses in her inspirational oracle set. Some of the goddesses will be familiar ones, and some are ones that I had not heard of before. The art of the goddesses is very appealing even though I would have liked to have seen the goddess art take up more of the card than the allotted square picture frame. But all in all, this comprehensive goddess card set is very nice. Love
