The Goddess Oracle features 52 goddesses of various ages, body shapes, and cultures around the world.  The art is absolutely gorgeous, and there wasn't a single card that disappointed me in this deck.  The cards measure 5-1/4" x 3-3/4" inches and have a light glossy coating.  Although they are a bit over-sized, shuffling is easily managed due to the flexible (but not flimsy) card stock.  The cards are surrounded by a white border with the name of the Goddess and a keyword beneath the image.

The set comes packaged in a box with a lift-flap top.  The cards are held in a well within the box with a 188-page paperback book set on top of the cards.  Each goddess in the book is first presented with a poem, followed by sections on mythology, meaning of the card, and a ritual suggestion.  The ritual or path-working section is quite interesting.  It is like a guided meditation or visualization which is optional to do, but some people can gain a lot from that particular section for each card.

The Meanings section for each card mentions statements and descriptions about the goddess energy in addition to providing questions for you to ask yourself to assist in divining that energy into your own life.

The cards are not intended to be reversed as the back features a dark background with a woman holding a bowl with smoke rising from it.  If a reversal should come up, however, it's usually a signal to pay special attention to that particular goddess energy.

Naturally there is some nudity in some of the card scenes, but all are presented in a natural and tasteful way in conjunction with the card's energy.  Nothing is intended to be shocking or obscene in any way.

I really like that last statement in the above paragraph, because our futures are NOT sealed and set in stone.  It's up to each of us individually to create the changes that we desire in our lives.  Although there will be some choices and situations that are out of our control, it's always important to focus upon what we CAN control in our lives.  Life presents choices to us continuously, and it's up to us to choose wisely.  Goddess Wisdom is an enriching avenue for helping us make those choices that will affect our tomorrows.
