© 1999 Juni Parkhurst The Goddess Card pack contains 30 goddess cards and a companion held in a box with a lid. I like most of the artistic scenes in this deck, even though there are a few cards that I don't like as much as some of the others. The cards portray bright and colorful scenes, as you can see from the samples above. For the most part, the artwork is not extravagant, but it is lovely and vibrant. Some of the cards are more detailed than others. I very much like the accompanying 96-page hardback book that comes with this goddess set. It is quite useful in applying the goddess wisdom of the cards into one's everyday life. This book is done in color, so it's an attractive presentation. The book begins with an introduction and history on goddesses, followed by information on how to use the book and cards. The next part of the book, beginning on page 10 is a lot of fun! You can take a quiz (pages 10 through 17) that consists of seven questions to determine which goddess you are. The results of the quiz helps you determine which one of the major goddess archetypes matches your own energy. That answer can also change over time, so it's fun to take the quiz once in awhile to see if your energy has changed to relate more to a different goddess at a different time in your life. The book then goes into the explanation of each of the six main goddesses. The main goddesses are:

At the end of the book, the author has included information about laying out the cards in a spread. A sample interpretation is included. All in all, I would definitely recommend this deck to anyone who enjoys working with goddesses to seek spiritual guidance . . . and to discover the goddess within to access her timeless powers. Although I noted a few things in this review that might be deemed as "shortcomings," many women have enjoyed readings with this deck and gained valuable information through these goddesses. I don't think my notations are necessarily "shortcomings" -- but just a couple of things I would have liked to have seen done a little differently. However, an author and an artist cannot please every single person, and I think this is a lovely deck which I enjoy using, even if it is not at the top of my "favorite list." The author states on the back of the book that every woman has a goddess inside, and when you find her, a new world of knowledge opens up to you. She offers this card set as a path to identifying and taking advantage of this source of spiritual energy. It's a guide that will answer many questions for those who seek answers or resolution with an open mind and heart. Love
